Komubook

Komubook is a Ukrainian publishing platform that uses crowdfunding to publish books. It focuses on publishing cult works of world literature that have not yet been translated into Ukrainian. The platform allows readers to support the publication of a book, and when the necessary funds are collected, the book is prepared for printing and distributed to supporters.

Komubook was created as the first Ukrainian crowdfunding publishing platform. The project works by proposing a book, estimating its publication cost, and then launching a fundraising campaign that can last from 30 to 90 days. When the required amount is collected, the book is published and copies are sent to all contributors. If the required amount is not collected, the platform may finance the publication with its own funds or return money to all contributors. Komubook is primarily a cultural project aimed at filling cultural gaps by publishing cult works that are part of the canon of world literature of the 19th-21st centuries but are not yet available in Ukrainian.
