Koča pri Jelenovem studencu is a mountain hut (planinska koča) in Kočevje, Slovenia, operated by the Planinsko društvo Kočevje (Kočevje Mountaineering Association). It serves as a starting point, rest stop, and destination for hikers exploring the Kočevje region. The hut is described by its operator as the 'green heart' of the association and the centre of mountaineering in the Kočevje area. It offers 40 beds in 6 rooms, plus 10 shared sleeping places, a dining area with 40 seats, a separate room with 40 seats, and outdoor space for about 100 visitors. It is open Friday 14:00–22:00, Saturday 8:00–22:00, and Sunday/holidays 8:00–18:00. Access is possible on foot via several marked trails (Kalanova pot, Grajska pot, MTB trail centre, forest road) or by car/bus to a parking area above the hut. The hut was established in 1952 when the mountaineering association took over existing forestry cabins (brunarici) that had served as shelters for forest workers, converting the better-preserved one into a mountain post. Over the years it has become one of the most popular and important recreational and tourist nature spots in the area.

It was a quiet but strong wish of the founders of the mountaineering association to create such a facility. Today, Koča pri Jelenovem studencu is one of the most popular and, in recreational and tourist terms, the most important (most visited) nature spot in the area. The hut provides accommodation, dining, and access to surrounding hiking trails, including Kalanova pot, Grajska pot, and an MTB trail centre.
