Overview

KlasJet, UAB is a Lithuanian charter airline headquartered in Vilnius and operating as part of Avia Solutions Group. The company focuses on business-class and VIP charter aviation, while also providing aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance (ACMI) services and selected in-flight management solutions. Its market coverage extends across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. The airline was established by Avia Solutions Group in October 2013. It initially operated Bombardier Challenger 850 aircraft and obtained an air operator certificate in 2014, allowing it to begin commercial flight operations. KlasJet subsequently broadened its business-aviation fleet with Hawker 800XP aircraft in 2015. Both the Challenger 850 and Hawker 800XP programs ended in 2019. A major strategic development began in 2016, when KlasJet acquired a Boeing 737-500 and started converting it for VIP use. In 2017, the company received a type-A licence for commercial operations carrying more than 20 passengers and began flying the refurbished aircraft. The Boeing 737-500 became an important platform for transporting sports teams, corporate groups and other large parties in a premium cabin configuration. During the 2017–2018 EuroLeague season, KlasJet transported players of Lithuanian basketball club Žalgiris Kaunas. In 2018, the Canadian men's ice hockey team used a KlasJet Boeing 737-500 for transportation to the Winter Olympics in South Korea. By the 2018–2019 period, the airline had added four more VIP-configured Boeing 737-500 aircraft. KlasJet also used its aircraft for humanitarian and special-purpose missions. In March 2020, it transported a shipment of medical masks and gloves to Lithuania without charge during the COVID-19 crisis. In June 2021, it repatriated people stranded in Ghana to South Korea. In December 2021, it transported two rescued wild animals to northern Tanzania inside the cabin of a Boeing 737-500, an unusual cabin-transport operation. The company expanded beyond passenger chartering in 2020 through a cooperation with cargo carrier Bluebird Nordic. This collaboration added air-cargo services and involved a Boeing 737-300 cargo aircraft, which KlasJet operated until 2021. From 2021, its pilots also participated in the Pilot Peer Support Program through BAA Training, reflecting an emphasis on pilot welfare and operational support. In February 2023, KlasJet formally launched ACMI services and added eight Boeing 737-800 aircraft to its fleet. The move broadened the company from a predominantly VIP charter operator into a provider capable of supplying aircraft and operational crews to other airlines. During the same period, aircraft movements and leasing arrangements connected several Boeing 737-500 and Boeing 737-300 aircraft with Dubai World Central. In March 2023, KlasJet introduced a Boeing 737-300 for the United Kingdom market and continued planning aircraft deployment through Dubai World Central. In October 2023, KlasJet reached an agreement with El Al Israel Airlines to provide additional flights to and from Israel. The agreement illustrated the airline's role as a capacity provider for scheduled carriers as well as a direct charter operator. KlasJet's overall positioning combines premium group transportation, VIP aircraft interiors, sports-team logistics, ad hoc chartering and ACMI capacity. Its fleet strategy has therefore evolved from smaller executive aircraft toward narrow-body Boeing aircraft capable of serving larger groups and airline customers.

History

KlasJet was founded in October 2013 by Avia Solutions Group as a Lithuanian charter-airline business focused on premium and business aviation. Its first aircraft type was the Bombardier Challenger 850. The company received an air operator certificate in 2014 and commenced commercial operations. In 2015, it added a Hawker 800XP, extending its executive-aviation capabilities. Operations with both the Challenger 850 and Hawker 800XP ended in 2019. The company began shifting toward larger VIP aircraft in 2016, when it acquired a Boeing 737-500 and started its refurbishment. In 2017, KlasJet received a type-A licence permitting commercial flights with more than 20 passengers and introduced the refurbished Boeing 737-500 for VIP service. The aircraft's larger capacity made it suitable for sports teams, corporate groups and other organized parties. KlasJet transported Žalgiris Kaunas players during the 2017–2018 EuroLeague season, and in February 2018 it carried the Canadian men's ice hockey team to the Winter Olympics in South Korea. By the 2018–2019 period, the fleet had grown to five VIP Boeing 737-500 aircraft. KlasJet's activities later expanded beyond passenger charter. In 2020, it worked with cargo airline Bluebird Nordic to introduce air-cargo services and operated a Boeing 737-300 cargo aircraft through 2021. During the COVID-19 period, the airline also undertook special missions. In March 2020, it carried medical masks and gloves to Lithuania free of charge. In June 2021, it repatriated citizens stranded in Ghana to South Korea. In December 2021, it transported two rescued wild animals to northern Tanzania inside the cabin of a Boeing 737-500. From 2021, KlasJet pilots participated in the Pilot Peer Support Program through BAA Training. A further strategic transition took place in 2023. In February, KlasJet launched ACMI services, supplying aircraft together with crew, maintenance and insurance, and added eight Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Several Boeing 737-500 and Boeing 737-300 aircraft were moved toward Dubai World Central for leasing or deployment. In March, the company introduced a Boeing 737-300 for the United Kingdom market and planned additional aircraft movements to Dubai World Central. In October 2023, KlasJet agreed to provide additional flights for El Al Israel Airlines to and from Israel. The brand consequently developed from a small executive-charter operation into a broader aviation-services provider. Its activities encompass VIP and business-class charters, sports and group transportation, ACMI capacity, selected cargo operations, aircraft leasing support and in-flight management. The company remains headquartered in Vilnius and operates internationally under the Avia Solutions Group umbrella.
