Kirindo Holdings

Kirindo Holdings Co., Ltd. is a Japanese holding company that oversees the drugstore chain Kirindo. It was established in August 2020 through a sole-share transfer of Kirindo Co., Ltd. and is listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange under securities code 3194. Its business consists of the management of subsidiaries operating drugstores and dispensing pharmacies selling pharmaceuticals, health foods, cosmetics, baby goods and miscellaneous goods, along with related operations. Its headquarters are in Yodogawa-ku, Osaka.

The predecessor of Kirindo Holdings, Kirindo Co., Ltd., was established in March 1958 in Miyakojima-ku, Osaka, for the purpose of pharmacy store operation and pharmaceutical manufacturing. In August 2014, Kirindo Holdings Co., Ltd. was established through a sole-share transfer of Kirindo Co., Ltd., and was listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. In August 2020, the company was established with a stated establishment date of August 25, 2020. The group expanded over the decades, including the 1973 establishment of Kenbisha Co., Ltd. for health food development, reaching 50 directly operated stores in 1977, acquiring the dispensing pharmacy chain Medinet Co., Ltd. in 1991, reaching 100 directly operated stores in 1998, listing on the Second Section of the Osaka Securities Exchange in 2000, listing on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2003, and being designated to the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2004. It also expanded into China, establishing Kirindo Biken International Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in 2011 and Zhongxing Kirindo (Changzhou) Trading Co., Ltd. in 2012, opening its first China store in December 2012.
