Kino Riffraff

Kino Riffraff is a cinema and bar located at Neugasse 57/63 in the Kreis 5 district of Zürich, Switzerland. It operates as part of the Kinos Riffraff/Houdini group, a small Zürich-based cinema network that also includes Kino Houdini and, through the shared cinu.ch ticketing and programme portal, the Bourbaki cinema in Lucerne. The group presents itself under the tagline 'Ausgesucht gut' ('carefully selected, good'), signalling a curated, arthouse-oriented film programme rather than mainstream multiplex fare. The Riffraff venue combines a cinema with a bar, and its programme includes regular screenings, cinema events, children's cinema under the 'Houdinli' label, and private event rentals ('Dein Anlass'). Tickets can be purchased online through the cinu.ch portal, which serves as the shared digital front end for the Riffraff, Houdini and Bourbaki cinemas, and also through the 'Kinotickets' app. The portal allows users to select a city for the cinema programme and offers streaming options across Switzerland. The legal entity behind the operation is Neugass Kino AG, registered at Röntgenstrasse 22, 8005 Zürich, which is named in the site's Impressum and Datenschutz pages as the operator responsible for the cinemas. The group's web presence spans riffraff-houdini.ch, cinu.ch and kinobourbaki.ch, with legacy domains such as riffraff.ch, kinohoudini.ch and kinoluzern.ch having been consolidated into the newer account system. As a Zürich arthouse cinema, Kino Riffraff occupies a niche in the city's cultural landscape, catering to audiences interested in curated film programming, film events and the social experience of a cinema bar. Its identity is closely tied to its Kreis 5 location, an area known for cultural venues and nightlife, and to its sibling venue Kino Houdini.
