Kimlan

Kimlan Foods Co., Ltd. is a Taiwanese company specializing in soy sauce and pickled products. It was founded in 1936 as '大同商業株式會社' by Chung Fan. The company later renamed to '金蘭食品股份有限公司' in 1987. Kimlan emphasizes pure brewing, using non-GMO soybeans and selected wheat, and has received iTQi awards for 10 consecutive years.

Kimlan was founded on May 8, 1936 (Minguo 25) as '大同商業株式會社' by Chung Fan, who served as the first chairman. The company was established to create a local Taiwanese business in the food industry, which was then dominated by Japanese operators. After Taiwan's retrocession, the company was renamed '大同商事股份有限公司'. In 1960, Chung Chiu-kuei became the second chairman and promoted the 'Kimlan Soy Sauce' brand. In 1970, the company was renamed '金蘭醬油食品股份有限公司'. In 1987, it was renamed again to '金蘭食品股份有限公司' to reflect diversified operations. The company introduced Taiwan's first transparent bottled soy sauce in 1977, and in 1985, it became the first food GMP certified factory. In 2009, it launched non-GMO soy sauce, and in 2015, it completed the switch to non-GMO soybeans for all products and launched Taiwan's first 100% additive-free soy sauce.
