Kids Planet

Kids Planet is a family-owned, award-winning group of over 240 nurseries across the UK. It was set up in 2008 by working mum Clare Roberts and her father John Hoban, and now cares for and educates over 30,000 children. The group offers a child-led curriculum and a nature-based outdoor learning approach called Udeskole. Its head office is in Lymm, and it has an in-house Training Academy established in 2018.

Kids Planet was set up in 2008 by working mum Clare Roberts and her father John Hoban. Clare, a new mum to her first daughter Isabelle, struggled to find flexible, suitable childcare for her busy life, and convinced her father, who had previously been one of the owners of another nursery group, to start again and set up Kids Planet with her as co-founder. The first two nurseries opened in Warrington and Widnes that same year. In 2009, Kids Planet Head Office launched and Beamont and Lymm nurseries opened, doubling the number of children cared for. In 2010, Kids Planet Hale opened, and the group won 'Start-up Business of the Year' in Warrington and was a finalist for three 'Nursery World' awards. In 2011, the group acquired Bridge Farm Crewe Nursery. Clare's sister Lucy joined a few years later as Childcare Director, and it remains very much a family business. The group has grown to over 240 nurseries across the UK, caring for and educating over 30,000 children. It has an in-house Training Academy established in 2018. Its head office in Lymm contains dedicated teams including IT, Customer Support, Finance, Marketing, People (HR), Procurement, and Maintenance.
