It is a Swabian family business in its fifth generation and also owns three sister companies: Beton-Kemmler, Kemmler-Industriebau, and Kemmlit-Bauelemente. The company was founded in 1885 by farmer Michael Pflumm, who bought the Pulvermühle in Dußlingen and later established the company 'M. Pflumm, Dußlingen'. History
Kemmler was founded in 1885 when farmer Michael Pflumm bought the Pulvermühle in Dußlingen and used the inherited facilities as a grain mill and for producing Roman cement and slate stones. The following year he founded the company 'M. Pflumm, Dußlingen'. After marrying Pflumm's daughter Margarethe in 1901, merchant Johannes Kemmler joined the firm and modernized its organization, introducing double-entry bookkeeping.
