Overview

Karl Marbach GmbH & Co. KG, known as the Marbach Group, is a German company that supplies tools, machines and equipment for the packaging industry. Its offerings include cutting dies, rotary tools, thermoforming tools, machines and materials, used for die-cutting paperboard, corrugated board and other materials. Founded in 1923 by Karl Marbach Senior as a mechanical workshop in Heilbronn, Baden-Württemberg, the company grew from a three-person business into an internationally active group with over 1,600 employees at more than twenty locations worldwide.

History

On July 16, 1923, Karl Marbach Senior founded a mechanical workshop in Heilbronn together with two partners. The company's most important products were manual top knives for the regional shoe industry. Founded in the crisis years after the First World War, business had to be suspended in the first year. In 1924 Karl Marbach Senior re-started the business on his own and moved the workshop to Fügerstrasse. As a result of the world economic crisis, there were fewer and fewer customers from the shoe industry; at that time the advertising material factory Nupnau in Heilbronn was looking for a regional supplier for steel rule dies, so Karl Marbach Senior began to focus on the production of steel rule dies. Over 100 years, the small craftsman business became an internationally active world market leader. Today, the Marbach Group with its 1,600 employees worldwide is an important partner of the global packaging industry.
