History

Guangdong Kaijin New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was founded in March 2012 and achieved hundred-ton-level shipments in its first year. In December 2016 it acquired Huzhou Ruifeng to increase shipment capacity. In 2017 it built the Inner Mongolia base to expand its own graphitization capacity and established Huzhou Kaijin Plant 1 to expand finished-product capacity. In 2018 it completed the acquisition of Qinghai Kaijin and simultaneously expanded finished-product production lines; in July 2019 the Qinghai Kaijin finished-product line went into operation. In 2020 it established Huzhou Kaijin Plant 2, which began production the following year. In 2021 it started the Songshan Lake headquarters and Guizhou Tongren integrated project. In 2022 Guizhou Kaijin went into production and the Jiangsu Kaijin integrated project was launched. In 2023 the company moved to its new headquarters in Songshan Lake, Dongguan, and Jiangsu Kaijin began production. In 2024 Asia's first 100,000-square-meter raw material storage center was completed and put into use. In 2025 the Ningde Kaijin project was launched and the Guizhou base expanded its integrated capacity. Over this period Kaijin grew from a single-site anode material producer into a group with multiple production bases across Zhejiang, Inner Mongolia, Guizhou, Jiangsu and Fujian, supported by the Kaijin Research Institute. The company has been recognized as a national high-tech enterprise, a national-level specialized and sophisticated "little giant" enterprise and a national intellectual property demonstration enterprise. As of December 2025 the group reported 304 cumulative authorized patents, including 131 invention patents, 151 utility model patents and 22 international invention patents. Its stated vision is to become the world's number one new energy materials supplier, and its main customers include CATL, BYD, HiTHIUM, LG, SKI and GS Yuasa.

Products and positioning

A national high-tech and specialized "little giant" anode materials supplier aiming to become the world's number one new energy materials supplier, serving leading battery makers with artificial graphite, silicon-based and hard carbon anode materials.

  • Artificial graphite anode materials

Artificial graphite formed by high-temperature graphitization with a regular layered structure, enabling efficient charge storage and release through lithium-ion intercalation/deintercalation for EV, energy storage and consumer electronics cells.

  • Silicon-based anode materials

Silicon-based materials achieve efficient lithium-ion insertion and extraction through alloying reactions, offering ultra-high lithium storage capacity and serving as a key anode material to significantly improve lithium battery energy density for long-range power and energy storage cells.

  • Hard carbon anode materials for energy storage

Hard carbon is a non-graphitizable amorphous carbon with large interlayer spacing and abundant defects, using an adsorption-intercalation-pore filling synergistic sodium storage mechanism to efficiently complete energy conversion for large-scale energy storage and power battery cells.
