Kahawatte Plantations is described as the producer of some of the best-selling tea in Sri Lanka, with plantations in the mid-country belt and lowlands. The company has six tea processing centres in Nawalapitiya, five in Sabaragamuwa, five rubber factories, and one cinnamon processing centre. It produces about 4 million kg of tea annually.
