History
In the 1950s, what is now known as Isole e Olena were two separate borghi in the heart of Chianti Classico, about one kilometer apart, where sharecropping was still practiced. Around 130 people lived in the two villages, a self-sufficient community working the land for mixed production, including wine for consumption or sale to local merchants.
