A global provider of industry-specific enterprise software and cloud applications.
Last updated August 31, 2026
Overview
Infor is a privately held enterprise software company that develops business applications for organizations in sectors such as manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, retail, hospitality, public services, and financial services. Its portfolio includes enterprise resource planning, supply-chain management, human-capital management, customer-experience, asset-management, financial-management, and data and integration tools. The company positions its products around industry specialization rather than a single generic software platform: it develops applications for particular operating environments and promotes versions tailored to narrow industry segments, a strategy it has described through the concept of “micro-verticals.” The business originated in June 2002 when software assets were spun out of Systems & Computer Technology Corporation, a Pennsylvania-based technology company. The new company was initially called Agilisys and had approximately 1,300 customers using process-manufacturing enterprise resource-planning software. Its expansion was driven substantially by acquisitions backed by private-equity investors Golden Gate Capital and Summit Partners. In 2004, the acquisition or integration of German software company Infor Business Solutions AG led Agilisys to adopt the name Infor Global Solutions, later shortened to Infor. Infor broadened its portfolio through further acquisitions and product consolidation. The company’s applications have historically been available both for on-premises deployment and as software delivered as a service. From around 2010, it increasingly emphasized industry-specific versions of its products, arguing that focused functionality could reduce implementation complexity compared with broad, highly customized enterprise systems. In 2014, Infor introduced CloudSuite, an Amazon Web Services-based cloud offering intended to package its applications for particular industries and support a shift away from traditional licensed, on-premises software. Infor moved its headquarters from Alpharetta, Georgia, to New York in 2012. Public descriptions of the company subsequently identify Atlanta as its headquarters. In February 2017, Koch Equity Development invested approximately $2.68 billion and obtained a majority, reported as roughly two-thirds, ownership interest. In February 2020, Koch acquired the remaining minority interest held by Golden Gate Capital in a transaction reported to value Infor’s assets at approximately $11 billion. Infor consequently became a subsidiary of Koch Industries while continuing to operate as an enterprise-software business. Its principal commercial platform is the Infor CloudSuite family, which combines cloud-hosted applications with industry-oriented functionality. Infor OS provides integration, data, workflow, security, and extensibility capabilities across the company’s application portfolio. Other offerings address enterprise resource planning, supply-chain planning and execution, warehouse operations, workforce management, customer engagement, financial processes, asset-intensive operations, and sector-specific administrative needs. Infor serves multinational companies and large institutions, with publicly cited customers including Bausch & Lomb, Heineken, Flex, Wyndham Hotels, Benetton Group, Boskalis, EBSCO, Legacy Health, and Best Western International. The company also promotes cloud modernization, automation, analytics, and artificial-intelligence capabilities as extensions of its industry applications. Its competitive context includes large enterprise-software vendors such as SAP and Oracle, as well as specialist providers in enterprise resource planning, supply-chain software, healthcare information systems, hospitality technology, and human-capital management. Infor remains privately owned under Koch Industries, and no public stock ticker is associated with the brand.
History
Infor’s corporate history began in June 2002, when enterprise-software operations were separated from Systems & Computer Technology Corporation, a company based in Malvern, Pennsylvania. The new business was named Agilisys. At formation it had about 1,300 customers using process-manufacturing enterprise resource-planning software, giving it an established base from which to pursue consolidation in the fragmented business-application market. Agilisys expanded with financial backing from Golden Gate Capital and Summit Partners and used acquisitions as a central growth mechanism. In 2004, the addition of German company Infor Business Solutions AG resulted in a corporate name change to Infor Global Solutions. The Infor name subsequently became the principal identity for the expanding software group. Through additional acquisitions and product development, the company assembled applications spanning enterprise resource planning, financials, supply-chain operations, customer management, workforce processes, asset management, and industry-specific administration. A major element of Infor’s product strategy emerged around 2010, when it began promoting “micro-verticals.” Rather than offering only broad horizontal enterprise packages, the company adapted applications to more narrowly defined sectors and operating models. Examples included software for particular manufacturing environments, healthcare organizations, hospitality businesses, retailers, and distribution operations. Infor argued that this specialization could make deployments more practical by reducing the amount of customer-specific modification required. Infor moved its headquarters from Alpharetta, Georgia, to New York in 2012. In 2014, it introduced CloudSuite, an Amazon Web Services-based offering that packaged its enterprise applications for cloud delivery and industry use cases. CloudSuite became an important expression of the company’s shift from traditional on-premises licensing toward hosted and software-as-a-service models, although Infor continued to support licensed on-premises deployment for customers with those requirements. Ownership changed substantially in 2017. Koch Equity Development, the investment arm associated with Koch Industries, invested approximately $2.68 billion and acquired a majority stake reported at roughly two-thirds of the company. In February 2020, Koch acquired Golden Gate Capital’s remaining minority interest. The transaction was reported to value Infor’s assets at approximately $11 billion, after which Infor operated as a subsidiary of Koch Industries. Under Koch ownership, Infor has continued to organize its portfolio around industry-focused cloud applications. Infor CloudSuite serves as the umbrella for sector-oriented application suites, while Infor OS supplies shared capabilities for integration, workflow, data management, security, extensibility, and application connectivity. The company’s product scope includes ERP, supply-chain planning and execution, warehouse management, financial management, human-capital management, customer experience, asset management, hospitality, healthcare, retail, and manufacturing systems. Infor’s publicly cited customers have included Bausch & Lomb, Heineken, Flex, Wyndham Hotels, Benetton Group, Boskalis, EBSCO, Legacy Health, and Best Western International. The company has also promoted cloud modernization, analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence as ways to extend its industry applications. Its competitive environment includes SAP and Oracle, alongside specialist vendors serving manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, hospitality, retail, and human-resources technology. Infor is privately held and does not have a public stock listing or ticker.

The suites can include ERP, financials, supply-chain, workforce, customer, and asset capabilities, with hosting and infrastructure supported through cloud architecture.

Infor Supply Chain ManagementSupply-chain management
Infor’s supply-chain portfolio addresses planning, sourcing, inventory, warehouse, transportation, order, and execution processes. The products are designed for organizations whose supply networks require sector-specific rules, demand planning, traceability, fulfillment coordination, or complex distribution operations. These capabilities are commonly incorporated into relevant Infor CloudSuite packages rather than positioned only as standalone horizontal tools.
Infor HospitalityHospitality software
Infor Hospitality provides software for hotel and hospitality organizations, covering areas such as property operations, guest-facing processes, financial administration, workforce activities, and related commercial workflows. It reflects Infor’s broader strategy of building applications around industry operating models rather than asking hospitality customers to configure a generic enterprise package from the ground up.
Infor HealthcareHealthcare information systems
Infor Healthcare comprises enterprise and operational applications for healthcare organizations. Depending on the product area, capabilities can support financial management, supply-chain operations, workforce processes, asset administration, and other institutional functions.
