InfoPark, Kochi is a government-developed information technology park located in Kakkanad, in the eastern part of Kochi, Kerala, India. Established by the Government of Kerala in 2004, it was created to expand the state’s information-technology and information-technology-enabled-services economy, attract domestic and multinational employers, and provide purpose-built commercial infrastructure for technology businesses. The campus operates as a large employment and real-estate ecosystem rather than as a conventional consumer-facing product brand. The Thrissur facility is located at Koratty near the National Highway 544 and Cochin International Airport. The Cherthala facility in Alappuzha district includes a sector-specific SEZ and an operational IT building. The park is strategically connected to Kochi’s wider telecommunications and transport infrastructure. It is linked to the Seaport-Airport Road through the InfoPark Expressway and is close to telecommunications infrastructure associated with major international submarine-cable landing routes. The Kochi site was selected in Kakkanad, an area that could support a large planned campus while remaining connected to central Kochi, the airport, road networks, and telecommunications infrastructure. The expansion was planned as a mixed SEZ and non-SEZ technology district with office clusters, BPO complexes, utilities, roads, water treatment, sewage treatment, commercial space, hotels, recreation, and convention facilities. The Board of Approvals of India’s Union Ministry of Commerce granted SEZ status to approximately 98 acres of the Phase II area. The master plan emphasized an environmentally conscious campus with energy-saving measures and reduced carbon emissions. Jyothirmaya, a major Phase II building, was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Kerala on 22 January 2017. InfoPark’s development model also expanded beyond Kochi. Under its hub-and-spoke approach, the Kochi park serves as the hub while facilities at Thrissur and Cherthala extend IT infrastructure into other districts. The Thrissur park at Koratty was developed on land near the airport and National Highway 544, with plug-and-play office capacity. The Cherthala facility in Pallipuram includes a sector-specific SEZ and an IT building intended to support operations outside the Kochi metropolitan area. Connectivity has remained central to the park’s competitiveness. InfoPark is connected to the Seaport-Airport Road by a four-lane expressway and benefits from nearby telecommunications infrastructure, including access to major international submarine-cable systems through the regional communications gateway. Water transport between Vyttila and Kakkanad and feeder-bus services have improved access, while the proposed Kochi Metro extension toward Kakkanad and InfoPark has been associated with longer-term efforts to relieve congestion and support the expanding workforce.   Located at Koratty in Thrissur district, InfoPark Thrissur extends the organization’s hub-and-spoke model beyond Kochi. The site includes approximately 30 acres, plug-and-play office capacity, and additional planned development. Its location near National Highway 544 and Cochin International Airport supports access for technology and business-service companies.

  The Cherthala facility in Pallipuram village, Alappuzha district, occupies approximately 66 acres, of which about 60 acres were notified as a sector-specific SEZ. Its first InfoPark-developed IT building provides office capacity for companies seeking a technology location outside the Kochi metropolitan campus.
