Overview
icash Pay is an electronic payment account launched in November 2019 by icash Corporation (愛金卡股份有限公司), which is described as a 100% invested subsidiary of President Chain Store Corporation. The service adds online payment, stored value, transfer, and withdrawal functions, extending the company's offerings beyond physical channels, and works together with OPENPOINT point accumulation and redemption. The app supports credit card payment (VISA, MasterCard, JCB cards from domestic issuing banks), bank account payment, stored value, and withdrawal, as well as payment barcodes, barcode scanning, transfers, and multiple stored-value options including automatic top-up.
History
icash Corporation states that its first-generation icash card began in December 2004 as a small-amount payment tool at President Chain Store (7-Eleven) stores. In October 2014 the company launched the second-generation contactless product "icash2.0", which could be used across industries and for transportation including MRT, Taiwan Railways, buses, and ferries. In response to the trend toward a cashless society and mobile payment, the company launched the electronic payment account "icash Pay" starting November 2019, adding online payment, stored value, transfer, and withdrawal functions, so that its service scope would no longer be limited to physical channels.
