Overview
Grupo Flexicar, commonly known as Flexicar, is a Spanish privately held automotive retail group focused primarily on buying and selling used and nearly new vehicles. The business began in 2012, when its first dealership opened in Alcobendas in the Community of Madrid. Its initial activity was concentrated in the Madrid metropolitan area, but the group subsequently expanded through a wider Spanish dealership network and developed additional services and vehicle categories. From 2019 onward, Flexicar extended its presence beyond Madrid into regions including Catalonia, Andalusia, Castile and León, Aragon and the Valencian Community. The Basque Country was added to its network in 2020. This regional expansion helped transform Flexicar from a Madrid-area used-car retailer into a national automotive sales platform. Its business model combines vehicle acquisition, retail sales and related mobility services, with stock covering conventional used cars as well as nearly new vehicles. The group broadened its scope during the 2020s. Its activities came to include vehicle leasing and renting for private and business customers, motorcycles, lower-emission vehicles and recreational vehicles. In 2023, Flexicar opened its first dealership outside Spain in Porto, Portugal, reportedly following an investment of more than €5 million, and then continued developing a Portuguese network. The same period saw the launch of Flexibike, a business focused on used and nearly new motorcycles. In March 2024, Flexicar introduced Flexicar Green in Madrid. The division focused on used and nearly new vehicles carrying Spain's environmental classifications, including ECO and CERO categories administered within the country's vehicle-labeling framework. The initiative aligned the group with growing consumer and regulatory attention to emissions, urban access restrictions and lower-emission mobility. Flexicar also increased its public brand visibility through sports sponsorship. Beginning with the 2024–25 season, an agreement with Baloncesto Fuenlabrada resulted in the club's first team competing under the name Flexicar Fuenlabrada. In February 2025, the group presented a renewed brand identity, the slogan "Una vida, muchos cars" and a new digital-platform approach. Two-time Formula One World Champion Fernando Alonso was announced as a brand ambassador in connection with the rebrand. The group undertook a corporate reorganization in early 2025 following resolutions approved in December 2024. The restructuring brought several companies, including Financar Automoción, Finanflex 2019, Flexicar Capital and Flexicar Ibérica, under Flexicar Internacional SL. The changes were intended to consolidate important operating entities under the international holding structure. In April 2025, Flexicar expanded into the caravaning sector by acquiring a 25% interest in Grupo Autocaravanas Norte, a Spanish dealer of motorhomes, camper vans and caravans. The arrangement made recreational vehicles available through more than 50 Flexicar sales points in Spain. Also in 2025, Antonio García Olmos, previously associated with BBVA, became chief executive officer. Flexicar Internacional SL additionally created Fundación Flexicar, whose stated purpose was to support the welfare or health of children with serious illnesses. According to figures reported for 2025, the group generated more than €1.1 billion in revenue, sold over 60,000 vehicles and completed more than 128,000 purchase-and-sale operations. These figures are reported company or reference-source claims rather than independently verified financial statements. Flexicar operates in a competitive Spanish used-vehicle market that includes franchised dealers, independent retailers, online classified platforms and vehicle remarketing companies. Its positioning combines a broad physical dealership footprint with a multi-category automotive offering, international expansion into Portugal and adjacent businesses such as renting, mo…
