Juntaro Suzuki murder and the sokaiya issue
Vice president Juntaro Suzuki announced that Fujifilm would stop paying sokaiya, corporate extortionists associated with organized crime. He was murdered outside his home after the announcement. The incident became a prominent corporate-governance and organized-crime controversy connected with the company.
