Fuechschen

Fuechschen is a brewery and brand associated with Altbier and Pils. The brewery is located on Ratinger Straße in Düsseldorf. Its history is documented from 1640, and the name 'Füchschen Alt' has been used since 1848. The brewery produces Füchschen Pils, an undergärte beer brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot.

The brewery 'Im Füchschen' is part of the long tradition of Altbier. It is suspected that beer was brewed and served at the same location on Ratinger Straße under the name 'Im Füchschen' as early as 1640. Since 1848, the brewery and its beer have carried the name 'Füchschen Alt'. In 1908, Theodor and Louise König bought the brewery and made the fox the symbol. During the First World War, the brewhouse was forcibly 'dec oppered' and the brewery had to cease operations after only six years, working with contract breweries. In 1930, the König brothers reopened the brewery. In 1943, the brewery was completely destroyed by incendiary bombs. In 1950, Peter König and his wife Johanna reopened the brewery 'Im Füchschen' and developed it into a popular meeting place for celebrities from culture and business.
