Foundation Software, founded in 1985 by Fred Ode, provides construction accounting software and related solutions for contractors. Its flagship product, FOUNDATION®, is construction accounting software that brings together job costing, payroll, invoicing, vendor payments, and financial reporting in one system. The company has expanded its portfolio to include mobile time tracking, HR management, payroll services, estimating, takeoff, safety management, and project management.

Foundation Software was founded in 1985 by Fred Ode with the goal of building a trusted household name in construction accounting. The flagship product, The Foundation Accounting System, later renamed to FOUNDATION®, was originally the only product offered. Over time, the company released Payroll4Construction as an integrated sister product. After Fred's retirement in 2020, Mike Ode assumed the role of CEO. Under Mike's leadership, the product line expanded to include job cost accounting, mobile time tracking, HR management, payroll services, estimating and takeoff, safety management, and project management.
