Overview
The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) is an independent, not-for-profit standards organization headquartered in Sophia Antipolis, in the south of France. Established in 1988 by the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations following a proposal from the European Commission, it was created to provide a coordinated European framework for telecommunications and, increasingly, information and communications technology standardization. History
ETSI was established in 1988 by the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations, following a proposal from the European Commission.
