Overview
DJI Matrice is a family of industrial multirotor unmanned aircraft produced by DJI, the Chinese technology company best known for civilian drones, aerial imaging systems, and camera stabilization equipment. The Matrice name identifies DJI's enterprise-oriented platforms rather than a single aircraft model. Across successive generations, the line has developed from an open development platform for drone software and hardware engineers into a broad portfolio of rugged, sensor-rich aircraft used by public-safety agencies, utilities, surveying companies, construction firms, forestry organizations, emergency responders, security operators, and other professional users. History
The DJI Matrice brand emerged from DJI's effort to create a professional aircraft family that could serve industrial operators, developers, filmmakers, public-safety agencies, and infrastructure companies. Its first model, the Matrice 100, was announced in June 2015. It used a quadcopter configuration and was designed as an extensible development platform. Users could install additional batteries, integrate cameras and other video sources, and use DJI's Guidance collision-avoidance system.
