History
Cuadernos de Neuropsicología / Panamerican Journal of Neuropsychology was founded in 2007 by Roberto Polanco-Carrasco, who remains its director and editor. The journal was established out of an interest in how to academically address the broad and emerging field of the biological bases of behaviour, seeking to foster greater professional command of scientific publications in the specialty. It is published by CAEN, the Centro de Estudios Académicos en Neuropsicología, based in Rancagua, Chile. From its inception, the journal has aimed to be a tribune for discussion and academic dissemination around advances in neuroscience and their integration with the clinical practice of psychology. Its editorial line focuses on work that academically addresses the constant and numerous advances in the study of the brain and its link with psychic processes, for better understanding and management by professionals and researchers. CNPs publishes original articles, translations, reviews, interviews and essays that articulate a critical point of view, leaving space open for dissemination in the field of the study of mental phenomena. Its only exclusion criterion is the quality of the proposed work, linked to peer review of all submitted manuscripts. The journal has a permanent call for articles, meaning authors can submit articles for consideration throughout the year. It does not apply or charge any type of fee to authors for the publication process (Article Processing Charges, APCs). It is an open-access journal: all content is freely available at no charge to the user or their institution, and users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full texts of articles for any lawful purpose without seeking prior permission from the publisher or author, in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access. CNPs uses a permanent PID identifier, with a DOI provided by Crossref, seeking to permanently provide and preserve access to the digital content generated through its publication. Content is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International license. The journal is edited by the Centro de Estudios Académicos en Neuropsicología (CAEN) and has the ISSN 0718-4123. Its editorial contact is at Calle Valparaíso 396, Población Urzúa, Rancagua Sur, Rancagua, VI Región, Chile. The principal contact is Roberto Polanco-Carrasco.
