Covert Instruments

Covert Instruments is a company that designs and sells best-in-class lock picks, bypass tools, and training gear. It was started in 2020 to put professional-grade entry tools in the hands of locksmiths, hobbyists, and security professionals, built to a higher standard than what was already on the market and tested by the people who use them every day. The company describes itself as a small team of pickers, instructors, and engineers, with almost every product designed in-house, prototyped on the bench, and field-tested before release. Its catalog includes lock picks, lock pick sets, bypass tools, training gear, Lishi tools, bump keys, and the Covert Companion EDC platform.

Covert Instruments was started in 2020 to put professional-grade entry tools in the hands of locksmiths, hobbyists, and security professionals, built to a higher standard than what was already on the market and tested by the people who use them every day. The company describes itself as a small team of pickers, instructors, and engineers who got tired of recommending tools they wished were better, so they started making their own. Almost every product in its catalog is designed in-house, prototyped on the bench, and field-tested by the team before release; if it isn't a measurable improvement over what's already out there, it doesn't ship. The Lock Picking Lawyer is a co-owner and designer of Covert Instruments.
