Overview

CORWELL Ltd. (Hungarian: Corwell Kereskedelmi Korlátolt Felelősségű Társaság, commonly Corwell Kft.) is a Hungarian office-supply wholesaler founded in 1991 as a fully Hungarian-owned company. It sells its products and services exclusively to resellers, positioning itself as a behind-the-scenes distribution partner rather than a consumer-facing retailer. Its headquarters are in Dunakeszi, and in 2024 it employed 86 people. The company began by trading in computer accessories and office supplies, and over the years shifted its emphasis toward office-supply products. Its catalogue now spans more than 20,000 products from roughly 250 brands. Corwell acts as the exclusive Hungarian distributor for a number of world brands, including Apli, Maped, Schneider and Staedtler. It sources goods from Hungarian manufacturers, from Europe, and partly from China and India. Alongside third-party brands, Corwell has developed its own product brands. Victoria, launched in 1993, is the oldest and broadest, covering 13 product families and nearly 1,500 items such as office paper goods, office tools, hygiene products for facility operations, toners and visual boards. Mayah, introduced in 2013, is an office-furniture brand whose range centres on office chairs in five categories and modular furniture. Avatar, launched in the summer of 2020, is a sunglasses brand with 11 models. The company also offers Shopwell, a turnkey rentable web-shop service that contains Corwell's full product range and provides automated links to logistics and invoicing plus automated marketing tools. Corwell has expanded abroad through subsidiaries in Slovakia (2007), the Czech Republic (2012) and Croatia (2015). It supports its reseller partners' sales in various ways, and in 2023 it received a Successful Innovation Award for Shopwell. The company also runs the Victoria a Gyermekekért Egészségvédelmi Közhasznú Alapítvány (Victoria for Children Health Protection Public Benefit Foundation), established in 2010, to which it directs a defined share of Victoria product sales to fund equipment for children's hospitals and care institutions. On sustainability, nearly 2,000 of its distributed products carry environmental certification or are made from sustainable/recycled materials, and from 24 February 2025 its own deliveries in and around Budapest use multi-use, returnable containers instead of single-use cardboard boxes.
