Cooperativa Quadrifoglio

Cooperativa Sociale Quadrifoglio is an Italian social cooperative based in Santa Margherita di Belice, in the province of Agrigento, Sicily. It was founded in 1988 by a group of professionals working in social and socio-health services. The cooperative is inspired by the principles of mutuality, solidarity, democracy, balance of responsibilities, community spirit and a strong link to its local territory. Over the years it has grown into a dynamic and solid associative reality. The cooperative focuses on the needs of minors and their families, the elderly, people with disabilities, migrants and the most vulnerable social categories. It manages integrated reception facilities, residential communities, nursing homes and recreational centres. It also runs continuous training programmes to ensure the professional growth of its workers. Its mission is to pursue the general interest of the community through the management of social services, prioritising but not exclusively addressing the needs of weak population groups such as minors and young people with social hardship, people with disabilities, the elderly, women in difficulty and migrants. Quadrifoglio's organisational structure is divided into different intervention areas that include specific services and activities managed as a unified system. Its reference model is inspired by the principle of empowerment and is based on decentralisation and shared responsibility, widespread and circular communication, and teamwork. The cooperative pays particular attention to networking and building links that enhance the effectiveness of interventions and local resources, supporting the growth of an active social protection system based on collaboration and reciprocity. Since its foundation, the cooperative has organised school meal services, home assistance for the elderly, transport and hygienic-sanitary assistance for students with disabilities. These services have been carried out in the municipalities of Santa Margherita di Belice, Montevago, S. Ninfa, Contessa Entellina, San Giovanni Gemini, Campobello di Licata, Sambuca di Sicilia, Sciacca and Caltabellotta, taking advantage of the strategic position between the provinces of Agrigento, Palermo and Trapani. Quadrifoglio is registered in the register of associations and bodies that carry out activities in favour of immigrants (section I, no. A/512/2008/AG since 13 March 2008). It has been a member of Confcooperative since 13 December 1994 and has been accredited as a training body by the Region of Sicily since 6 January 2008 (code ET W001-01). It also adheres to CNCA (National Coordination of Communities) based in Florence, which includes about 190 communities nationwide, and to CRCA (Regional Coordination of Communities for Minors) based in Caltanissetta, which includes about 70 communities in Sicily. As of 1 July 2012, the cooperative had 18 members (15 women) and 55 employees (48 women), plus one project collaboration. Its legal, training and office headquarters are located at Via G. Giusti, 84, Santa Margherita di Belice (AG), Italy.

The cooperative oriented its action towards managing integrated reception facilities, residential communities, nursing homes and recreational centres. On 13 December 1994, Quadrifoglio became a member of Confcooperative. On 6 January 2008, it was accredited as a training body by the Region of Sicily with code ET W001-01. On 13 March 2008, it was registered in the register of associations and bodies that carry out activities in favour of immigrants (section I, no. A/512/2008/AG).
