Constructa Extra

Constructa is a German household appliance brand. According to its official history page, the story began in 1951 when Peter Pfenningsberg built the first German fully automatic washing machine, a machine with a porthole (Bullauge) that gave the brand its name at the Hannover trade fair. The brand states it stands for quality from Germany since 1951 and offers appliances for washing, dishwashing, cooling and baking, emphasizing thoughtful technology, easy operation and a fair price-performance ratio. Its current range highlighted on the official site includes dishwashers, built-in ovens with AirFry, induction hobs, washing machines and dryers, and built-in refrigeration and freezing appliances.

Constructa's official history page states that the brand began with a washing machine, specifically a porthole (Bullauge) model. In 1951 Peter Pfenningsberg built the first German fully automatic washing machine, a heavy machine with a 6 kW three-phase motor that consumed 225 liters per wash program and had to be bolted to a concrete base with four stone screws. That same year the machine received the name Constructa at the Hausausstellung in Hannover, and the history of the household washing machine with a porthole began. The brand adds that copies soon appeared worldwide in the millions. In the early 1960s the first free-standing, fully automatic Constructa washing machines came onto the market without a concrete base.
