Overview
Consec Corporation (株式会社コンセック) is a Japanese company headquartered in Hiroshima that manufactures and sells construction machinery and tools, with a leading position in diamond tools for concrete drilling and cutting. Founded in November 1967 as Construction Service Co., Ltd., the company initially sold construction materials and performed anchor work. It later established Hakken Co., Ltd. in 1976 for the manufacture and sale of construction machinery, and in 1988 absorbed Hakken to form a three-division structure: trading, manufacturing, and construction. The company changed its name to Consec Corporation in 1990 and has been listed on Japanese stock exchanges since then, currently on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Standard Market. Consec operates through three main business segments. The manufacturer division, branded Hakken (発研), develops and produces diamond core drills, wire saws, wall cutters, hydraulic units, and custom-made products for concrete drilling and cutting. The trading division, Tools & F. Solution, supplies a wide range of construction machinery, materials, tools, housing equipment, office supplies, and lifestyle goods. The construction division, Construction Field Solution, uses Hakken diamond tools to perform vibration-free, low-noise cutting, drilling, demolition, reinforcement, and improvement of concrete structures. The company claims a top share in structure cutting and drilling machinery in Japan and has expanded globally, including subsidiaries in China and Taiwan. As of the official website, Consec reported 324 employees, 31 business locations, and net sales of 9.89 billion yen for the fiscal year 2026. The company's management philosophy centers on "supreme trust," "supreme technology," and "supreme dignity," aiming to contribute to social prosperity through safe and environmentally conscious construction technologies. Consec has pursued overseas expansion, particularly in the Chinese market, and has made strategic investments in affiliated companies such as Hokuto Denki Kogyo, San'in Construction Service, and Marukane Construction. It has also divested non-core businesses, including its nursing care subsidiary Sanlife in 2024.
