Comfone

Comfone is a privately owned company based in Bern, Switzerland. It was started in 1997 as a result of a joint merger between Swisscom and Vodafone. The company provides roaming services and solutions, including IPX, Data Clearing, Financial Clearing, and Hubbing services, through its Key2roam Platform, which serves more than 750 customers worldwide.

Comfone was started in 1997, as a result of a joint merger between Swisscom and Vodafone. Founders Walter Heutschi, Geraldine Philippe and Toni Stadelmann each played key roles in the development and evolution of roaming. The company developed and launched a portfolio of roaming services, including Data and Financial Clearing, Signalling and GRX/IPX services and the Key2roam Hub. By 2010, Comfone was able to offer operators everything necessary to establish seamless, high quality roaming. In 2012, Comfone launched the Key2roam Platform. In June 2020, Daniel Heutschi, Christoph and Marc Stadelmann took over the company shares from the founders. In 2022, Comfone celebrated 25 years in business. In 2024, Comfone celebrated 20 years of its Key2roam Hub service.
