Overview
Clevon is an Estonian technology company that develops and manufactures autonomous delivery robots for last-mile logistics. The company was created on 1 April 2022 as a spin-off from Cleveron AS, which had begun developing autonomous vehicle technology in 2017 through its Mobility unit. Clevon's flagship product is the Clevon 1 autonomous delivery robot, later marketed as the GO Bot, a lightweight electric driverless courier designed to carry goods ranging from groceries to larger appliances. The robot features a modular design, a 360-degree camera and radar sensor suite, and is supervised remotely by teleoperators who can monitor multiple robots simultaneously. Clevon listed its shares on the Nasdaq Tallinn First North market in June 2022 under the ticker CLEV, raising approximately 5 million euros in an oversubscribed initial public offering. However, the company faced financial difficulties and delisted in summer 2023. Its major shareholders were founders Arno Kütt and Peep Kuld. In 2024, Clevon announced a rebranding: the company became part of indiGOtech and now operates as indiGO Europe. The Estonian team continues to develop autonomous driving technology, which is being applied to next-generation electric vehicles developed in the United States with partners including FedEx and Foxconn. Clevon's autonomous delivery robots have been used in retail, grocery, logistics, holiday parks, airports, and healthcare, with the company claiming reduced labor costs of 80–90% and zero safety incidents over years of public road operation.
History
Clevon's origins trace back to Cleveron AS, an Estonian technology company founded in 2008 that focused on automated click-and-collect parcel solutions. In 2017, Cleveron established a Mobility business unit to develop autonomous vehicles, investing 7 million euros into the project between 2017 and 2022. The first concept prototype, named Lotte, was completed in 2018 and was recognized as the Last-Mile Delivery Innovation of the Year at the Parcel and Postal Technology International Awards. In 2019, Cleveron launched an academy in cooperation with the Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences. In 2020, Clevon (then Cleveron Mobility) became the first in Europe to receive permission to operate driverless vehicles on public roads throughout Estonia. The main vehicle model produced was the Clevon 1. On 1 April 2022, Clevon was established as a separate company through the division of Cleveron AS. The company listed its shares on the Nasdaq Tallinn First North market on 28 June 2022 under the ticker CLEV (ISIN EE3100096884), with 29,575,771 shares listed. The IPO subscription period ended on 17 June 2022, raising 5,060,917.51 euros from 6,734 investors for 2,706,373 shares, a slight oversubscription of 1.2%. The final IPO price was 1.87 euros per share. On the first trading day, the stock closed at 1.79 euros, down 4.3% from the IPO price, with 298 trades and 68,103 shares changing hands. By the end of the first trading month (28 July 2022), the share price had fallen 7.5% to 1.73 euros, though it was the most traded stock on the First North market during that period. In summer 2023, the company decided to delist from the stock exchange. After Clevon encountered difficulties, founder Arno Kütt sold Cleveron shares to rescue Clevon. The company never paid dividends. In 2024, Clevon announced it was becoming part of indiGOtech and rebranding as indiGO Europe. The Estonian team continues to develop autonomous driving technology as part of indiGOtech, with the technology being applied to next-generation electric vehicles developed in the U.S. and backed by partners like FedEx and Foxconn.
