The brand states its mission is to make affordable yet stylish, easy to customize motorcycles that are technologically accessible and easy to maintain, aiming to break the barrier that only the rich can buy motorcycles. Its website presents the tagline 'WE MAKE FUN MOTORCYCLES BUILT FOR THE PEOPLE' and lists models including ACE, MISFIT, HOOLIGUN, MUTINY and HAULER. The company also invites dealer applications.

Cleveland CycleWerks started off as a humble business in 2009 Ohio by Scott Colosimo, Jarrod Strength and Curtis Ray. According to the company's About page, CCW's business plan and manufacturing model were established by Scott Colosimo in 2007, with design, development, and prototypes initiated in 2008 using insights gained from extensive research. In 2009, CCW officially filed for LLC status. The same page also presents a separate historical timeline titled 'A HISTORY OF ENGINES SINCE 1915', which describes early Cleveland motorcycle milestones: in 1915 Cleveland introduced the first motorcycle with a 221 cc two-stroke engine and a unique longitudinal crankshaft orientation; in 1924 it replaced the two-stroke engine with a 352 cc four-stroke single-cylinder engine; in 1925 a four-cylinder model with a 598 cc T-head engine was released but faced tough competition; and in 1929 the Tornado model was introduced with upgrades, after which the company went out of business following the Wall Street Crash. The relationship between this 1915–1929 history and the modern Cleveland CycleWerks brand is not explained in the supplied evidence.
