CITY HOME

CITY HOME is a Florida home furnishings retailer. It began in 1971 when recent college graduate Kevin Koenig opened Waterbed City in Fort Lauderdale with $1,500 in savings, later joined by his brother Keith. The brand was reinvented as CITY Furniture in 1994 and expanded into furniture and decor. Keith's son Andrew Koenig became CEO, and the company most recently transformed into CITY HOME, expanding beyond furniture to offer furniture, mattresses, closets, connected home, bathroom vanities, electronics, appliances, fitness and wellness, and decor. It operates showrooms in Florida and offers services including interior design, moving services, apartment packages, commercial sales, closets, connected home, and a 3D room planner.

In 1971, recent college graduate Kevin Koenig opened Waterbed City in Fort Lauderdale with $1,500 in savings. He was soon joined by his brother Keith, and the two grew the business quickly, selling waterbeds for $29.95. As the industry changed, the brothers reinvented the brand as CITY Furniture in 1994 and expanded into furniture and decor. Keith's son Andrew Koenig later became CEO, leading the company alongside his father. The company most recently transformed into CITY HOME, expanding beyond furniture to offer everything for every room. In June 2026, CITY Furniture officially became CITY HOME, described as Florida's first stop for all things home, and in July 2025 CITY HOME opened its 25th Florida showroom in the Sarasota market.
