Overview

Citimall Kuala Kapuas is a community-based shopping mall located in Kuala Kapuas, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. It is part of the Citimall network owned by NWP Property, a Jakarta-based real estate platform established in 2015 as a joint venture between Warburg Pincus and PT City Retail Developments Tbk (IDX: NIRO). The mall first opened in mid-December 2015 and was officially inaugurated on 21 January 2016, with the inauguration attended by the Vice Regent of Kapuas, Muhajirin. It is the first and only mall in Kuala Kapuas. The mall has a net leasable area (NLA) of 8,800 square meters and is arranged over two levels. It aims to be a one-stop destination for families seeking daily needs, fashion products, entertainment and food and beverage. Its anchor tenant was originally Hypermart, which occupied the entire first floor, while the ground floor housed fashion retailer Pojok Busana, bookstore Karisma, and arcade Happy Time. Hypermart closed on 13 October 2019 and was later replaced by Hyfresh Supermarket, a Hypermart brand targeted at smaller cities, on the ground floor. The former Hypermart space on the first floor remained vacant until 5 August 2022, when half of it was occupied by MR.DIY. The remaining space became a Cinema XXI branch on 8 November 2023, marking the first cinema in the city. Citimall Kuala Kapuas XXI has three theaters with a capacity of 584 seats. As part of NWP Property, Citimall Kuala Kapuas benefits from the platform's focus on modern community-based shopping malls across Indonesia. NWP Property has grown rapidly since its inception, expanding from four seed projects to over 50 projects covering more than one million square meters of gross floor area. In early 2022, NWP added logistics to its portfolio and changed its name from NWP Retail to NWP Property. Citimall Kuala Kapuas remains an active community mall serving local residents and visitors in Central Kalimantan.
