China Social Sciences Press

China Social Sciences Press was established in June 1978 and is a national-level publisher supervised by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, specializing in publishing academic works in philosophy and the social sciences. It edits and publishes outstanding works by scholars of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the national philosophy and social science and cultural circles, including monographs, documentary materials, textbooks and reference books; it publishes Chinese translations of important foreign humanities and social science works, as well as accessible philosophy and social science reading materials. It operates numerous publishing centers and divisions and has published nearly 30,000 titles since its founding.

In recent years the press has adhered to the development path of professional publishing in philosophy and social sciences, giving priority to social benefits while striving for coordinated development of social and economic benefits, and vigorously implementing strategies of specialization, quality, digitalization, internationalization and popularization.
