Chikuho MFG. Co., Ltd. was founded in June 1946 (Showa 21) in Iizuka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, as a diesel engine repair workshop with capital of 150,000 yen. In January 1947, the company began servicing bulldozers, hydraulic excavators and locomotives. In December 1949, it entered into a special agency agreement with Diesel Kiki Co., Ltd. (now Bosch Corporation). In December 1950, as the business expanded, the head office and factory were relocated to Fukuoka City. In March 1958, the company received certification as a Class 1 repair workshop from the Minister of Transport. In July 1961, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force First Supply Depot Tokyo Branch Fukuoka Office was established within the company's head office. In September 1963, it was designated as a specified automobile repair business by the Fukuoka Land Transport Bureau. In May 1978, the company adopted "Human Knowledge is Infinite" (人知無限) as its corporate motto. In April 1991, the company obtained construction minister approval for the specified construction business "machinery and equipment installation work." In January 1992, it obtained construction minister approval for general construction businesses "civil engineering, building, electrical, landscaping, and fire facility work." In December 2017, it was selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as a Regional Future Leading Company. In November 2020, the Kitakyushu Branch and Kitakyushu Factory were newly built and relocated to Tobata Ward, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Regarding affiliated companies, Chikuyo Seiki Kogyo Co., Ltd. was established in September 1960; Iki Juhan Co., Ltd. in March 1989; C.S. Engineering Co., Ltd. in April 1991; an investment was made in Tashiro Automobile Repair Factory Co., Ltd. in June 1993; Zexel Sales Kyushu Co., Ltd. was established in May 1994; K.C. Rental Co., Ltd. in April 1998; Fukuoka Elder Staff Co., Ltd. in October 2000; Takachiho Sanki Co., Ltd. joined the group in April 2016 and was absorbed through merger in September 2022; Daiko Sansho Co., Ltd. joined the group in September 2022; and Nakamichi Kyodai Shokai Co., Ltd. became a subsidiary in March 2023.
