Centre Touristique Gruyères-Moléson-Vudalla SA

Moléson (moleson.ch) presents itself as "une montagne de loisirs" — a leisure mountain — with practical information, activities, restaurants, events, stays and webcams. Its offering spans summer activities such as the funicular and cable car, hiking, bike park, mountain-bike rental, cheese-making, via ferrata, bob-luge, dévalkart, minigolf, inflatable castles and playgrounds, and winter activities including ski/snowboard, ski school, sledging, freestyle and ski touring. The site also lists restaurants, an events agenda, and accommodation including the Restaurant-hôtel de Plan-Francey, Auberge de la Pierre à Catillon, apartments and chalets for rent, chalets for sale, and group accommodation.

The site's history page recounts the story of Moléson-Village, described as stemming from the imagination of a few Fribourgeois willing to combine economic and tourism development. The utopian 1960s project of building an ideal village dissolved amid controversy and financial difficulties, and from 1978 it took concrete form in a formal language very different from the original plan. The page states that the story of this epic is as much touristic (the dream of a tourist resort) as architectural (more than 150 plans, most of them unrealized), economic (more than 20 million invested) and sociological.

A leisure mountain destination offering year-round activities, dining, events and accommodation.
