Overview

Cave Kuribis is a Tunisian wine estate based in Korba, in the north-east of the country, founded in 2004 by landowner Rached Lagha and French oenologist Didier Cornillon. The pair set out to produce modern, creative wines of exceptional quality, and the first cuvées — Kurubis red and white, Soltane and 'K', described as the first sparkling wine in Tunisia — appeared in 2005. The estate works closely with partner growers, harvesting into small crates to protect the fruit, cooling the grapes after sorting and destemming to limit oxidation, and vinifying reds in temperature-controlled tanks. Its range spans red, white and rosé wines under labels such as Kurubis, Soltane, K, Kiss, Kaprice, Crazy, Origine and Nature, plus the Wine Shot line. The arrival of Jalel Souissi in 2021 marked a turning point, with brand expansion and innovations including Nature, presented as the first wine with no added sulphites, and Wine Shot in 2023. Cave Kuribis is a private Tunisian company and remains an active producer.

History

Cave Kuribis was founded in 2004 in Korba, Tunisia, through the meeting of Rached Lagha, a landowner in Korba, and Didier Cornillon, a French oenologist. Their ambition was to produce wines of exceptional quality that were modern and creative. In 2005 the first cuvées were released: Kurubis red and white, Soltane, and 'K', described as the first sparkling wine in Tunisia. The estate developed a winemaking approach centred on respect for the terroir and the quality of the grape, working closely with partner growers, harvesting into crates to preserve the integrity of the fruit, cooling the grapes after sorting and destemming to avoid oxidation and preserve aromas, and vinifying reds in temperature-controlled tanks. Over the years the portfolio expanded to include a wide range of red, white and rosé wines under labels such as Kurubis, Soltane, K, Kiss, Kaprice, Crazy, Origine and Nature, as well as the Wine Shot line. The arrival of Jalel Souissi in 2021 marked a turning point, with the expansion of the brand and major innovations such as Nature, presented as the first wine with no added sulphites, and Wine Shot in 2023, confirming Kurubis's vocation to innovate continuously.
