BB Cream Found With Undeclared Sunscreen Agent, Notified as Noncompliant by NMPA
The National Medical Products Administration notified 20 batches of noncompliant cosmetics; three batches of Carslan Meiyan Daka Luxury Care BB Cream were found to contain ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, a sunscreen agent not labeled on the packaging. The NMPA required relevant drug regulatory departments to file investigations, order cessation of business, and trace the source. Xinhua and other media named and criticized the product, damaging its "light of domestic brands" image. The products involved were suspended from sale.
