Overview

Byteclub GmbH is a German IT corporate group headquartered in Hamburg. It was formed in January 2017 through the merger of two long-established Apple-focused IT resellers, Comspot GmbH and Telcoland GmbH. The group operates as an umbrella organisation that brings together several specialised brands serving both private and business customers across the IT sector. The group's activities are structured around five core areas: Commerce, IT-Solutions, IT-Network, Consulting, and Support & Repair. Under the Byteclub umbrella, brands such as Comspot, Desk7, Smart Support, Telcoland Mobilfunk, CPN, Shifter, Flötotto Learning Spaces, and Attend IT-Service each address distinct market segments. Comspot is one of Germany's largest Apple Premium Resellers and Apple Service Providers, operating physical stores and an online shop. Desk7 focuses on system integration and services including Apple Business Integration, cloud, next-generation security, networking, and VoIP. Telcoland Mobilfunk runs Vodafone Professional Stores in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. CPN operates a cooperation network for system houses and IT retailers. Shifter is a pure online shop for consumer electronics. Flötotto Learning Spaces specialises in school furnishings, while Attend IT-Service develops database and interface solutions based on FileMaker Pro. At the time of its founding, Byteclub had six brands and approximately 360 employees across 45 locations. Over the years, additional brands such as Shifter, Desk7, Comspot-Repair, Deqster, and Flötotto Learning Spaces joined the group. In August 2022, Byteclub's education division—comprising GfdB, Institut für moderne Bildung (IfmB), and Deqster—became part of the Canadian Converge Technology Solutions Corp. group. The remaining brands continue to operate under the Byteclub umbrella. Byteclub positions itself as a modern, dynamic IT house that keeps pace with digital transformation. The group emphasises the synergy between its brands and a broad, forward-looking setup to meet the challenges of the IT market. Its service portfolio spans consulting, procurement, sales, installation, maintenance, and repair, with a focus on delivering comprehensive IT support to both consumers and businesses.

History

Byteclub GmbH was founded in January 2017 through the merger of Telcoland GmbH and Comspot GmbH, two companies that had each been operating independently in the German IT market for over 20 years. Both were official Apple Premium Resellers and competitors, but their owners, Mathias Harms (Telcoland) and Michael Hencke (Comspot), maintained a good relationship. The merger created an IT corporate group with six brands: Attend IT-Service, Comspot, CPN, Gesellschaft für digitale Bildung (GfdB), Smart Support, and Telcoland Mobilfunk. At that time, the group had approximately 360 employees across 45 locations. In the years following its founding, Byteclub expanded its brand portfolio by adding Shifter, Desk7, Comspot-Repair, Deqster, and Flötotto Learning Spaces (FLS). The group also developed a web-based service and repair portal called Service Port for small and medium-sized enterprises. In August 2022, Byteclub's education division—which included GfdB, Institut für moderne Bildung (IfmB), and Deqster—became part of the Canadian corporate group Converge Technology Solutions Corp. The three companies were also set to work together with the IT firms Rednet and Visucom. Following this transaction, Byteclub continued to operate its remaining brands, which currently number nine own brands under the umbrella company. The group's focus spans five areas: Commerce, IT-Solutions, IT-Network, Consulting, and Support & Repair. Its brands serve different business areas and target groups in the IT sector, ranging from Apple retail and service to system integration, mobile communications, cooperation networks, online consumer electronics retail, and school furnishings.
