Overview
Browar Trzech Kumpli is a Polish craft brewery based in Tarnów, founded in 2014. It operates as a contract brewery, producing its beers at other breweries, most notably Browar Zapanbrat in Żywiec since 2017. The brewery was established by Piotr Sosin and Irmina Wachna-Sosin, with roots in homebrewing that began in 2011 among three childhood friends. The name 'Trzech Kumpli' means 'Three Buddies', reflecting its origins. The brewery produces over 20 beer styles, including classic pilsners, Baltic porters, IPAs, sour beers, and Grodziskie. It uses only natural ingredients: water, malt, hops, and yeast. Its beers have won numerous awards, including multiple gold medals at the World Beer Awards 2026 and European Beer Star. Notable products include Pan IPAni (Wheat IPA) and Lager Trzech Kumpli, which was named 'Kraft Roku 2024' (Craft Beer of the Year 2024). In 2023, the business was transformed into a limited liability company, Browar Trzech Kumpli sp. z o.o. The brewery also runs a company shop in Tarnów and collaborates with local retailers. It has a strong focus on quality and innovation, including barrel-aging programs for high-gravity beers.
History
The origins of Browar Trzech Kumpli date back to 2011, when Piotr Sosin and two childhood friends began homebrewing as a hobby. The name 'Trzech Kumpli' (Three Buddies) refers to these three friends. Commercial operations started in July 2014 at Browar Wojkówka. As a contract brewery, it initially produced beer at various locations, including Browar Wojkówka, Browar Trzy Korony in Nowy Sącz, and a brewery in Zawiercie. In 2017, it established a permanent partnership with Browar Zapanbrat in Żywiec, where its beers are now exclusively brewed. In July 2016, the brewery opened its first company shop in Tarnów-Mościce at ul. Krakusa 2, which was relocated to ul. Krakowska 113 in December 2021. In 2020, it collaborated with the Tarnów retail chain 'Al Capone' to create beers like Dekada (Hazy IPA, 2020), Dolina (Hazy IPA, 2021), and Hoppy Weizen (2022). In 2023, the business was converted into a limited liability company, Browar Trzech Kumpli sp. z o.o. The brewery has won numerous awards, including a 63rd place in RateBeer's Top 100 Breweries in the World 2020 and recognition in Gault Millau Polska 2019.
