BROCKHAUS Group is an independent, family-run group of companies based in Plettenberg, Lüdenscheid, and Częstochowa. It operates through business units grouped under 'Technologies' (measurement technology and environmental technology) and 'Materials' (steel finishing and recycling of metallic materials), with four business units, 160 employees, and €100 million turnover across four locations in Germany and Poland. The company traces its history to 1864, when Peter Friedrich Julius Brockhaus founded 'Friedrich Brockhaus' in Oestertal (Wiesenthal) for the production of wire mesh and household goods. BROCKHAUS has been CO₂-neutral since 2019, and in 2020 the subsidiary 'BROCKHAUS Polska' was established in Częstochowa, Poland.

BROCKHAUS Group traces its origins to 1864, when Peter Friedrich Julius Brockhaus founded the company 'Friedrich Brockhaus' in Oestertal (Wiesenthal) for the production of wire mesh and household goods; this enterprise later developed into the forge Brockhaus Söhne. In 1909, a cold rolling mill was established to supply materials for the company's in-house tube production. In 1958, present-day Brockhaus Lennetal was founded as a steel trading company, and six years later what is now Brockhaus Messtechnik began operations with its first strip thickness measuring devices. In 2001, the forge was sold along with parts of the cold rolling mill; Dirk Brockhaus consolidated what is now Kaltwalzwerk Brockhaus Stahl with Brockhaus Lennetal and Brockhaus Messtechnik, continuing the family tradition as sole shareholder. In 2009, Caspar Brockhaus joined the companies, and in 2010 the brand and corporate structure as it is known today was initiated. BROCKHAUS has been CO₂-neutral since 2019, and in 2020 the subsidiary 'BROCKHAUS Polska' was established in Częstochowa, Poland.
