Overview

Boxed Water™ describes itself as a small team taking on the Big Plastic industry, offering the purest water in the most sustainable way. The brand states it was the first to offer a sustainable alternative to plastic water bottles, creating a new category. Its cartons are made from 92% renewable materials, are 100% recyclable, refillable, and BPA free, and the water is sourced close to consumers to reduce carbon footprint. The brand has planted more than 1.5 million trees across the country.

History

Boxed Water's founders had an idea in 2009 to change the way water was packaged, shipped, and enjoyed. In 2010, the brand started selling in major cities nationally like NYC, LA, Chicago and Atlanta. In 2013, as the official sponsors of Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits, they delivered 300,000 cartons in 72 hours. In 2015, they began planting trees in national forests across the US. In 2021, their first round of fruit flavors hit the market and sold out within a week. The founding team dropped off several cases of their new concept of Boxed Water® to a local market, and within 3 hours, the first cases were sold out.
