Bonsaï Music

Bonsaï Music is a French independent record label founded in 2004 by Pierre Darmon. From the outset it focused on building a high-quality jazz catalogue with the aim of reconnecting the genre with a wider audience. Its roster combines renowned artists and promising new talents from the French and Italian jazz scenes — such as André Ceccarelli, Enrico Pieranunzi, Jean-Pierre Como, Musica Nuda and Matthieu Boré — alongside international jazz artists including Ben Sidran, Leo Sidran and Jody Sternberg. The label seeks to bring together artists whose melodic composition is central to their artistic approach, and to operate as a genuine record house fostering links and collaborations among its artists.

Bonsaï Music was founded in 2004 by Pierre Darmon. Its catalogue brings together both internationally renowned artists and highly promising new talents, featuring many artists from the French and Italian jazz scenes (André Ceccarelli, Enrico Pieranunzi, Jean-Pierre Como, Musica Nuda, Matthieu Boré…), as well as artists from the international jazz scene such as Ben Sidran, Leo Sidran and Jody Sternberg. The label's aim is to bring together artists whose work places melodic composition at the heart of their artistic approach, and its spirit is to make the label a genuine record house in which links and collaborations are established between the different artists who reside there.
