Bockholdt

Bockholdt was a German facility management and building services company based in Northern Germany. It was founded in 1959 by Hans Bockholdt under the name "Firma Blitz-Blank" and grew into a family-owned service provider specialised in the cleaning of buildings, industrial facilities and hospitals. Its service range also included industrial climbing work and pest control, reflecting a focus on technically demanding and specialised cleaning and maintenance tasks. In December 2022, Bockholdt was acquired by STRABAG Property and Facility Services (STRABAG PFS), the facility services arm of the Austrian construction group STRABAG SE. Following the acquisition, the company was integrated into the STRABAG PFS corporate group. On 7 August 2025, Bockholdt was formally merged into STRABAG Property and Facility Services, ending its existence as a separate legal entity and brand. STRABAG PFS itself is one of the largest facility service providers in Germany, with more than 13,500 employees, total output of around €1.2 billion and operations in five countries. Its portfolio covers technical and infrastructural facility management, integrated building solutions and data-based services. The Bockholdt business, with its regional roots in Northern Germany and its specialisation in cleaning and technical services, was absorbed into this larger organisation. Today, Bockholdt no longer operates as an independent brand. Its historical website domain redirects to the STRABAG PFS website, and its services are marketed under the STRABAG PFS brand. The Bockholdt name remains part of the corporate history of STRABAG PFS in Germany.
