Overview
Blilious Group (Hebrew: קבוצת בליליוס) is an Israeli private holding company that operates through subsidiaries in vehicle import, public transportation, energy and real estate. The group traces its origins to 1964, when Ezra Blilious founded the business and began representing various manufacturers, including General Motors, Renault and Susita. In 1969 he secured the distribution franchise for Mercedes-Benz vehicles and established Auto Chen, which opened showrooms in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Over the following decades the group expanded from vehicle import into bus operations, energy storage and property development. Today the group's automotive activities are divided into two main divisions: the Passenger Mobility Division and the Private and Commercial Vehicle Division. Auto Chen Mobility imports buses and passenger transport vehicles, provides after-sales service and customer support, represents the electric vehicle battery giant CATL, and imports charging stations from INFYPOWER. Auto Chen imports innovative and reliable vehicles to Israel, including the MAXUS brand. The group began importing Chinese electric vehicles from Aiways in 2021 and added MAXUS models in 2024 alongside UMI. In public transportation, the group operates through the Superbus Group and holds a 50% stake in Galim, together operating over 10% of Israel's public transportation services. It manages approximately 1,200 buses across several clusters, including public transportation services in Jerusalem and a unique BRT system primarily in Haifa. Starting from December 2025, Superbus will also begin operating public transportation in the South Gush Dan cluster. In energy, the group established BLenergy in 2016, which builds and operates energy storage systems and serves as an authorized distributor of CATL, the Chinese vehicle battery manufacturer. The group also acts as the Official Service Agent (OSA) for CATL in Israel and, through Blilious Charge, exclusively imports advanced charging stations from INFYPOWER. In real estate, the group entered the business in 2000 and today holds a variety of residential and commercial properties in Israel and Budapest, Hungary. Notable projects include CAPITAL in the entrance district of Jerusalem, 70 Hayarkon St. in Tel Aviv, 4 Bilu St. in Tel Aviv, and various projects in Jerusalem such as Tor Sinai, Hantaka, Talpiyot and Sarei Israel. The group is managed by Ezra Blilious's two sons, Eli and Dan Blilious, who serve as co-chairmen and owners and each hold a third of the company. Their sisters Edna and Iris Blilious each hold 14.5%. The remaining holdings are held by Tereza Financing and Finance Ltd. The group is headquartered at 18 HaMasger St., Tel Aviv.
History
Blilious Group began in 1964 when Ezra Blilious founded the company and served as a representative for various manufacturers, including General Motors, Renault and Susita. After the Six-Day War, he began marketing Mercedes-Benz models in the West Bank as well. In 1969 he received the distribution franchise for Mercedes-Benz vehicles and established Auto Chen, which opened showrooms in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. In 1972 the company began entering the real estate business. Auto Chen imported buses for transport and tourism companies. Towards the beginning of the 2000s, there were expectations of many tourists arriving and many companies ordered buses. The Al-Aqsa Intifada caused a halt in activity and the company was left with a stock of more than 200 buses. As a result, in 2000 Auto Chen established Superbus, which competed in the reform tender in public transportation in Israel. The company won the tender to operate 34 lines in the Ramla–Lod area and six additional lines from Modi'in to Jerusalem and Bnei Brak. In addition, Superbus Tours and Travel Ltd. was established, offering transportation services in buses and minibuses. In 2012, the subsidiary Golden Dragon Israel was founded, importing and marketing buses from the Chinese company Golden Dragon powered by diesel, electric and gas engines. In 2016, BLenergy was established, engaged in the construction and operation of energy storage systems. The company serves as an authorized distributor of CATL, the Chinese vehicle battery manufacturer. In 2021 the company began importing electric cars made by Chinese Aiways to Israel. In 2024 it began importing, in parallel with UMI, models of MAXUS. Today the company is managed by Ezra Blilious's two sons, Eli and Dan Blilious, who serve as co-chairmen and owners and each hold a third of the company. Their sisters Edna and Iris Blilious each hold 14.5%. The remaining holdings are held by Tereza Financing and Finance Ltd. The group holds a variety of residential and commercial properties in Israel and Budapest, Hungary.
