Overview
Bled Lodge at Lipanca (Slovene: Blejska koča na Lipanci; Italian: Rifugio Bled) is a mountain lodge situated in the municipality of Gorje, Slovenia, at an elevation of 1,630 metres above sea level. It lies on the Pokljuka plateau, a karst highland within Triglav National Park, and serves hikers, mountaineers and visitors exploring the Julian Alps. The lodge is a typical Slovenian mountain hut (planinska koča), offering food, drink and overnight accommodation in a remote alpine setting. The building was inaugurated on 6 June 1951 following the renovation of an existing hut. In 1976 the Bled Alpine Association (Planinsko društvo Bled) acquired the property, and on 6 August 1978 the lodge was formally inaugurated as a mountain refuge. Since then it has been maintained and operated by the association, forming part of Slovenia's extensive network of mountain huts. The lodge is a popular base for walks and climbs in the surrounding area. It can be reached on foot from several trailheads on the Pokljuka plateau, including Medvedova Konta (about half an hour), Rudne polje (about two hours) and the Šport Hotel via Planina Javornik (about two hours and fifteen minutes). Nearby summits include Debela peč (2,014 m), Lipanski vrh (1,965 m), Mali Draški vrh (2,132 m) and Viševnik (2,050 m). The lodge's official website is blejskakoca.si.
