Overview

B.PRO GmbH is a German family-owned business headquartered in Oberderdingen, Baden-Württemberg. Until 2021 it traded as Blanco Professional, and before that as Blanco CS. The company operates in the business-to-business sector, supplying commercial kitchens and food-logistics customers as well as industrial customers with stainless-steel components. Its roots go back to Blanc & Co., founded in 1925 by Heinrich Blanc, which began with the series production of water tanks for coal stoves and later became a major stainless-steel manufacturer. In 2007 the B2B capital-goods activities of the Blanco group were spun off into an independent company initially named Blanco CS GmbH & Co. KG. At the end of 2012 it was renamed Blanco Professional Gruppe, and in 2021 it became B.PRO Gruppe. The sister company Blanco-Gruppe continues to make sinks, faucets and accessories for private kitchens; both companies are majority-owned by the Blanc & Fischer Familienholding. B.PRO is active in two business units. Catering Solutions provides solutions for customers in food logistics, while ENOXX Engineering supplies industry with custom deep-drawn stainless-steel parts and assemblies. The group includes the main site in Oberderdingen, subsidiaries in Germany (Hilter am Teutoburger Wald), Belgium, France, the United Kingdom, Austria and the Czech Republic, and a branch in Switzerland. Production sites are in Oberderdingen and Frýdek-Místek in the Czech Republic. B.PRO sells its products mainly in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. The company has undergone significant restructuring. In October 2020 a turnaround programme was announced that involved cutting 100 of 400 jobs in Oberderdingen, which the company said was necessary because of years of weak revenue and earnings. In 2021 the company was renamed B.PRO and its legal form was changed. The workforce fell from 693 employees in 2020 to 501 in 2024. The business area Medical was dissolved in 2018, and the Railway business area disappeared in 2021 when the subsidiary Kugel was taken over by the parent Blanc & Fischer Familienholding. Today B.PRO presents itself as a focused B2B supplier of catering solutions and stainless-steel engineering.

History

The origins of B.PRO lie in Blanc & Co., founded in 1925 by Heinrich Blanc. The company began with the series production of water tanks for coal stoves. In the early 1950s stainless steel became its most important material, used to make kitchen sinks, cooking pots and medical-technology products. It also began producing equipment for the commercial kitchen industry. In 1987 the globally introduced trademark "Blanco" was transferred into the company name Blanco GmbH + Co KG. In 2007 the B2B capital-goods businesses were spun off into an independent corporate group divided into the business areas Catering Systems, Medical Care Systems and Industrial Components, initially operating as Blanco CS GmbH & Co. KG. At the end of 2012 the company was renamed Blanco Professional Gruppe. Its sister company, Blanco-Gruppe, continued to produce sinks, faucets and accessories for the private kitchen. Both independently operating companies are majority-owned by the Blanc & Fischer Familienholding. Also in 2012, Kugel Edelstahlverarbeitung in Viechtach was acquired and run as an additional Railway business area. The company then operated in four business areas until the Medical business area was dissolved in 2018. The subsidiary Kugel was taken over by the parent company Blanc & Fischer Familienholding in 2021, which eliminated the Railway business area. Since 2021 B.PRO has referred to its two operating units as the business areas "CATERING Solutions" and "ENOXX Engineering". In October 2020 a restructuring of the company was announced, involving the elimination of 100 of 400 jobs in Oberderdingen. The company said the measure was necessary because of years of weakness in revenue and earnings. In 2021 the company was renamed B.PRO and its legal form was changed. The number of employees fell from 693 in 2020 to 501 in 2024.
