Black Widow Records

Black Widow Records is an independent record label founded in Genoa in 1990, specializing in progressive rock and psychedelia, hard rock, folk and dark music. Its catalogue comprises nearly 200 Italian and foreign productions, including historic international groups such as Hawkwind, High Tide, Pentagram, Black Widow, Paul Roland, Delirium, Latte e Miele, Orme, Jacula, Antonius Rex, Nuova Idea and Northwinds, alongside Italian acts such as Malombra, il Segno del Comando, il Tempio delle Clessidre, Il Cerchio d'Oro, Universal Totem Orchestra, The Black, L'Impero delle Ombre, Goad, Abiogenesi and Standarte. Over the years its distribution expanded beyond Europe to specialized shops worldwide. In 2005, through an agreement with the Teatro della Gioventù in Genoa, Black Widow also became an event promoter, hosting both emerging groups and established artists at venues including Teatro della Gioventù, Teatro Govi, Teatro Verdi, Teatro Albatros and La Claque. The label's ongoing research and monitoring of the Italian and international music scene has allowed it to discover new proposals to invest in, such as Areknames from Pescara and Wicked Minds from Piacenza.

The year 2005 was very important because, thanks to an agreement with the Teatro della Gioventù in Genoa, Black Widow also became an event promoter, an activity that gave fans of the genre the chance to hear both emerging groups and already established artists who in subsequent years performed on the stages of Teatro della Gioventù, Teatro Govi, Teatro Verdi, Teatro Albatros and La Claque; groups such as Le Orme, Delirium, Latte e Miele, Nuova Idea, Alphataurus, Osanna, Biglietto per l'Inferno, Il Tempio delle Clessidre and many others took turns in evenings that enjoyed great public success. The label's activity of research and continuous monitoring of the Italian and foreign music scene allowed Black Widow to discover new, interesting and original proposals to invest in and bet on, as was the case for Areknames from Pescara and Wicked Minds from Piacenza.
