History
BioCatch was founded in 2011 to address next-generation digital identity challenges by focusing on online user behavior. While serving in Military Intelligence, founder Avi Turgeman recognized that unique digital interactions from users could be measured and identified to combat online fraud and other cyberthreats. Using these insights, Avi teamed up with Benny Rosenbaum and Uri Rivner to found BioCatch. After five years of research and development, BioCatch deployed its account takeover (ATO) solution at tier-one banks in the UK, Spain, and Brazil. In 2022, global investment firm Permira made an initial investment in the company. In 2024, Permira bought out earlier investors to become BioCatch's majority shareholder.
