Overview

Betriebs-Center für Banken AG (BCB) was a German financial-services company and a wholly owned subsidiary of Deutsche Bank Aktiengesellschaft. It was established in January 2004 in the legal form of a GmbH & Co. KG and converted into a stock corporation (Aktiengesellschaft) on 1 July 2007. The company provided white-label services for the processing of domestic and international payment transactions on behalf of banks and financial institutions. In the 2009 financial year, BCB executed approximately 7.6 billion transactions. BCB's business model was to consolidate and industrialise payment processing for Deutsche Bank and other banking clients. From 2004 it handled payment transactions for Deutsche Bank and, until 2010, for Dresdner Bank; in 2007 it added payment processing for HypoVereinsbank. In summer 2008 the payment-transaction units of Postbank AG, with around 1,400 employees, were transferred into BCB. From the beginning of 2010, HSH Nordbank also became a client. Following Commerzbank's acquisition of Dresdner Bank, payment processing was transferred back to Commerzbank in April 2011. Over the years BCB absorbed and extensively restructured the payment-processing subsidiaries of its clients, including Dresdner Zahlungsverkehrsservice GmbH (ZVS), Deutsche Bank Payments AG (DB Pay), and HVB Payments & Services GmbH (HVB PAS). As clients insourced or terminated their payment-processing arrangements, BCB's mandate base shrank. Services for Commerzbank (formerly Dresdner Bank) ended on 30 April 2011, for HVB on 30 June 2020, and for HCoB (formerly HSH Nordbank AG) on 1 October 2022. On 5 September 2025, BCB was merged into PCC Services GmbH of Deutsche Bank, ending its existence as a separate legal entity. The brand is therefore defunct, though its operations were absorbed into Deutsche Bank's PCC Services organisation.
