Best Friends by Sheri

Best Friends by Sheri is an American pet-products brand best known as the home of the Original Calming Donut Cuddler pet bed. The brand designs calming dog beds, cat beds, faux fur donut beds, pet huts, nap mats and throw blankets, with a stated focus on products that mimic the anxiety-easing security of a mother's fur coat. Its catalog is built around plush, vegan faux fur and sherpa fabrics, premium fiber fillings, water- and dirt-resistant backing, and machine-washable construction, and it markets these features as supporting better sleep, better behavior and better health for pets. The brand positions itself around comfort, accessibility and functionality, describing its goal as developing high-quality, functional and fashionable calming pet beds that are accessible to the everyday pet parent. Its flagship offering, the Original Calming Donut Dog and Cat Bed, is a round donut-shaped bed with a raised rim that provides head and neck support and deep crevices that let pets burrow; it is offered in multiple sizes and colors. Other notable products include the Calming Pet Throw Blanket in Shag Fur, the Calming Donut Dog Bed in Lux Fur, and the Vegan Fur Meow Hut, a foam-constructed hideaway with cat-ear styling intended for both cats and dogs. Best Friends by Sheri is part of the Outward Hound pack of brands, and its About page describes the team as passionate pet parents who understand that pets are part of the family. The brand sells directly to consumers through its own website, offering fast, free shipping on orders over $29 in the United States, flat-rate shipping on smaller orders, and a 30-day return window on unused items with original tags. Its product line is also widely distributed through major pet and general retailers. Because the brand operates as a subsidiary within the Outward Hound portfolio, it does not trade independently on a stock exchange. Its public identity rests on the calming-bed category it helped popularize, the donut-cuddler silhouette, and a value proposition that combines premium faux-fur comfort with everyday affordability.

Best Friends by Sheri built its identity around a single, highly recognizable product concept: the Original Calming Donut Cuddler pet bed. The brand's About page states plainly that it is "home of the Original Calming Donut Cuddler pet bed," and its product design language is consistently explained as an attempt to mimic the anxiety-easing security of a mother's fur coat. That idea — a round, raised-rim bed with deep crevices that lets a pet curl up and burrow — became the foundation of the brand's catalog and the reason it is widely associated with the "calming bed" category in pet retail. From that starting point, the brand expanded into a broader range of calming and comfort-oriented pet products. Its website features dog beds and cat beds in multiple sizes and fabrics, including shag fur and lux fur variants, along with bundle deals and accessories such as the Calming Pet Throw Blanket. It also introduced the Vegan Fur Meow Hut, a foam-constructed hideaway with cat-ear styling that the brand notes is intended for both cats and dogs, showing an effort to serve both the canine and feline sides of the household. A defining structural fact about the brand is its membership in the Outward Hound pack of brands. Outward Hound is a pet-products company whose portfolio includes multiple pet brands, and Best Friends by Sheri operates within that group rather than as an independent public company. The brand's About page frames this affiliation in cultural terms, describing itself as "part of the Outward Hound pack of brands" and as "a team of passionate pet parents who understand your pets are part of the family." The brand's mission is stated as enriching the lives of pets and their families worldwide with innovations that deliver happiness, supported by stated values of love, respect and unity. In practice, its commercial strategy has centered on direct-to-consumer e-commerce through its own website — with free shipping on orders over $29 in the United States, flat-rate shipping on smaller orders, and a 30-day return policy on unused items — alongside distribution through third-party pet and general merchandise retailers. Its product messaging emphasizes premium vegan faux fur and sherpa fabrics, fiber fillings engineered to hold their loft longer than typical fiber-filled pet beds, water- and dirt-resistant bottoms, and machine-washable care. Because the brand does not disclose founding dates, founders or financial results in the supplied materials, its history is best understood through its product evolution and its position within the Outward Hound portfolio rather than through a timeline of corporate events. What is clear is that Best Friends by Sheri has established a durable niche by pairing a distinctive, comfort-driven product concept with accessible pricing and broad retail availability.
